Students have to demonstrate the English proficiency to study in native English Speaking Countries. This should be done in accordance with the demand of the prestigious universities and their courses. For this, one has to appear in these tests if he/she belongs to non-native English Speaking countries. (waivers can be granted in case you have American/English Academic background).   The most recognized tests are International English Language Test Systems (IELTS) and Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL). These tests are the most respected English language tests in the world.   At ForEd, we are offering IELTS and TOEFL coaching classes, an essential prerequisite for studying in a foreign country.  Let’s discuss the features of these tests one by one. 

TOEFL – Internet based test (iBT) 

Duration: 4.5 hours approximately.   Parts: 4  Break: 10 minutes  Cost: till 1st June 2019: 195 US $  https://www.ets.org/toefl/ibt/about/fees/ 

• Reading: 3 to 4 passages 
• Listening: Audio Lectures 
• Speaking: 6 tasks. familiar topic, reading and listening tasks. 
• Writing: 2 essays: topics introduced during the reading and listening, support an opinion task. 

Most of the students prefer to appear in iBT but some students wish to appear in paper based test PBT.TOEFL (PBT) lasts for 4 hours and it has 4 sections i.e.  – Listening Section –  Written Section – Reading Section- Spoken Section. 

IELTS ( Academic) 

Time: 2.5 hours  Speaking: 15 minutes approx. Speaking test is held separately.   Sections: 4  Cost: till 1st June 2019:  29,464 PKR  https://www.britishcouncil.pk/exam/ielts/dates-locations 

• Listening: 4 recordings of conversations 
• Reading: 3 passages. May include illustration. 
• Writing: 2 tasks. Short formal essay. Describe chart/ table/ diagram. 
• Speaking: face to face interview. Familiar topics, structured discussions and simple answer questions.  

Note: For Pathway programs, UK Universities require IELTS UKVI.

Speaking: we will assist you in developing an understanding of a given topic. We will provide solutions through planning and effective organization technique, brainstorming, cohesion and coherence. Moreover, we will develop your argument skill with an outstanding conclusion.
